Five Scientists disgusted with the future world they came from. They unintentionally created a time machine and once they realized the power they now had, they decided to take a stand, going back hundreds of years to stop the world from becoming marred.  They ensured that the countries and world order that once was, never came to be. They created the land known as Timetopia. A place they deemed as a utopia they the five scientist ran alone. Ava who thought of herself as a shining example of a model Timetopian, finds herself in a most unusual situation. On Ava’s seventeenth birthday, everything she once believed to be true suddenly becomes like a mirror cracked, shattered into a billion pieces. Now being chased by the people she once thought she could trust. She journeys across Timetopia with Rev, a girl she just met. What she finds on her journey shocks her. For nothing is what it seems in Timetopia.

May Day Brownies

Every May Day, I make cookies. In some parts of the United States, May baskets are made as part of the May Day tradition, a celebration of Spring that can include activities like a maypole dance and crowning a queen of May. May baskets are small baskets usually filled with flowers or treats, left anonymously on someone's doorstep.

We've always altered the holiday slightly. When my daughters' were little, we would pick Roses and make horns (to serve as holders for the flowers, made out of colored paper). After my son was born, we started baking cookies to give to friends and family on May 1st.

We've always added a note or a card letting people know that the gift is from us.

Happy May Day!

Enjoy these easy and yummy May Day Brownies.

8 Tablespoons (1 cube) of butter, melted
2 eggs
1 1/4 cups of granulated sugar
3/4 cup of baking cocoa
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extract
1/2 cup of flour

Directions: preheat oven to 325 degrees. Spray an 8 x 8 inch square baking pan. In a medium sized bowl, add all ingredients, excluding flour. With a spoon, mix thoroughly, lastly add the flour and stir again. Bake in a 325 degree oven for 20 to 25 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the brownie mixture comes out clean.

Bundles of Binding Time, by, Linda Ferrari (official press release)

For Immediate Release:

Bundles of Binding Time, by, Linda Ferrari

A journey of a thousand miles must begin with a single step.Lao-tzu

You never get a second chance to make a first impression.

When asked how he conquered the world, Alexander the Great replied:  “By not delaying.”

Some time ago I read an article that introduced me to the concept of “binding time.” That’s the notion of the semanticist Alfred Korzybski about the importance of language in passing knowledge from one generation to the next, and how language literally gathers events and thoughts together in bundles that outlive their makers in the memories of those that follow.

I began collecting these quotations when I was a sophomore in high school, and I am now a retired teacher.  Over the years, I have collected quotations and shared them with my students when I wrote them on the board in my classroom.  My students always loved reading the quotations, and so many of them began their own book of quotations.  I hope you, too, will find pleasure and inspiration in these “bundles of binding time.”
